New England John Deere Expo III Pulling Rules

Operators:

     Written permission of owner or parent if operator is under 18

     NO switching within or between classes

     NO alcoholic beverages before or during pull

     Must remain seated, be in full control, operate safely

     Will, with owner, assume full responsibility for accidents

     Will NOT back up to stoneboat with hitcher in the way

Tractors:

     Stock farm tractors, ag tread, original option sizes, forward rotation tires

     NO cut or ground tires; steel wheels permitted

     NO alternative fuels

     Hood, grill and all wheels must be in place if original equipment

     Maximum drawbar height, 20"; length, 36" min, 22" from axle centerline

     Std straight or twist clevis, must accept stoneboat chain hook

     NO hooking above drawbar with pin and hammerstrap, truck towhooks, etc.

     Governor bypass prohibited

     Must have min 18" exhaust up or factory system, working rear brakes

     Weighed with operator

Weights:

     Stock weights, securely attached to wheels or front frame

     Max:  1 set rears on L, LA, H, M, MT, 40, 420, 430, B, C, GP, 50

               2 sets              A, G, 520, 530, 60, 620, 630, 70, D

               3 sets              720, 730, R, 80, 820, 830

     NO suitcases

Safety:

     Safe operation at all times, NO passengers at any time

     Must stop on signal from a judge, be in neutral when hitching or unhitching, with

          hands extended, NO foot on clutch, hand type engaged

Pulling:

     Random draw order, drawn at signup

     Stoneboat, start with tight hitch, NO jerk pulls, 3 tries for 8 foot pull

     Tractors being repaired, readied, missing turn pull last

     Tractor tires must stay within course boundaries

General:

     Violation of any rule constitutes a disqualification

     Operators to attend meeting at scales at 8:45 AM

     Pull governed by 2 or more judges, all decisions final

     NO pit crew or operator coaching, parade rides or track packing

     Reasonable rules cannot cover every eventuality, judges' discretion will prevail,

          including safety, operation, equipment, good sportsmanship and common sense.

          Safety will be paramount including judges, spectators, and operators.

Scales:

     Scales will be open at 7:30 AM, pull will start at 9:00 AM.

     Ribbons, 4 places, no entry fee
