Today’s equipment requires more from a mechanic than a box of tools and a willingness to get dirty.
Each year we invest hundreds of hours sending technicians to John Deere technical training.
Last year we added the just- introduced Service ADVISOR computerized diagnostic system. A lap-top computer is plugged into the electronic circuit on new tractors. The system talks with the tractor, identifies the problem and displays the necessary procedures for correcting the problem to the technician.
For older John Deere tractors, not equipped with sophisticated electronics, the Service ADVISOR stores all technical information for each model on the lap-top, and allows the technician to take the entire library of John Deere’s technical knowledge to the field. Once potential problems are entered by the mechanic, Service ADVISOR provides solutions and recommends procedures on the spot.
